Guest guest
Cathryn, It seems unllikely this is an infection since both antibiotics and your Rx were not helpful. So you need to provide more details about what the patient is experiencing and when. It is possible the root canal is overfilled which could be irritiating the area surrounding the tooth. An x-ray of the tooth will tell you that. How did this problem of the "tooth" present BEFORE the root canal? It may not have been the tooth in the fisrt place. Also consider referral pain from the kidney or UT? Does she have any history of chronic problems in those organ systems? You need to know which organ system you want to treat before making an Unda Rx. Dick Thom Beaverton, OR (Portland in less than 3 weeks as I move downtown) cnacer, endocrine, Business of Health My 55 year old female patient had a root canal on 25 or 26 last month. She felt that afterwards she was left with a funny taste in her mouth and significant pain. She was given antibiotics, and I gave her Unda's to drain her sinuses as she felt a sinus infection coming on. One month later, she is still experiencing the funny taste in her mouth and a throbbing sensation superior to where the dental work was done. Any suggestions as to what Unda #'s to use?
