Guest guest
Debbie - I totally agree. All of mine were induced for some reasons beyond my control. I really tried to do the " natural thing " on my second child -- however when I got to 5-6 I lost my mind....literally. I couldn't think straight. I was in so much pain. I guess I have a very low tolerance for pain. In retrospect - I wish I could have had all of what ya'll have been talking about -- doulas, etc. Not an option for me or at least I was clueless to all of that information. I had two vaginally and my third baby was transverse breech so my doctor suggested a C-section. I guess he could have tried to rotate her but he is very conservative and he chose NOT to rotate her. I also think ways of doing thinks are very cultural. In the South where I am from - Louisiana - birthing plans are " laughed and scoffed at. " At least where I am. However, after being educated on the pros and cons -- it is still a choice that I would have picked for me (epidural). Maybe if I would have had some of you guys around things might have been different...I'll never know now. There are regrets but no use dwelling on them. To each his OWN! Guest guest
.. I am the mother of 2 sons. Both were birthed naturally. Does that make me more of a woman or a better mother? No way. It just means that I chose that for myself at that time. My first delivery was an unmedicated, very painful OP rotation. However, I chose at that time to not be medicated because this facility only offered spinals. I had read and read and read about childbirth and options and felt like I was well informed on everything but actually how painful it was. And that was something I had to learn from the experience. At the time of my second child, epidurals were being offered and I decided that was the way to go this time. In both deliveries it was MY choice. So I agree that each patient has to make a choice and should not be looked down upon if it's not the choice we would have made.
