Hi all,

There was some kind of discussion not long ago about gasoline fumes with

4 wheelers. I did not comment too much because those kind of fumes have

not given me a whole lot of trouble until TODAY!

I work in a gas station/convenience store...kind of an assistant

manager...definitely senior cashier LOL!

Anyways, we are in Arizona and run our swamp coolers year round here,

depending on what is going on, and where you are at. At the store I work

in, the coke coolers and beer coolers put off so much heat, that we are

warm in the frigid temps we get here in the winter, and in the fall,

spring, and summer we run the swamp coolers so the candy bars do not

melt. Today it was down to 24 degrees this morning, so I did not bother

with the swamp cooler at all....a customer came in and filled up two

five gallon gas cans and it sprayed all over himself, his truck...it was

very strong gas smell. When he came in to pay for it he reeked of

gasoline...it was strong and there was no movement of air at the time.

He was older with hearing aid, so I was trying hard to smile and cheer

him up as he was paying for it, but the gas fumes got to me, and as soon

as he left I had to get my rescue inhaler. It was BAD. So there is

something to gasoline fumes and asthma. Not a whole lot makes me reach

for my rescue other than the normal time I do it every morning.....but

this one did!!!! So yes in given circumstances gasoline fumes with not

ventilation can bring on an attack.

hugs,

Cindi
