Guest guest
I am having horrible asthma issues today. I was just wondering if anyone has ever taken 2 singulairs before? and how did it make you feel? I feel as if I need to go to the E.R. but I was just there about 2wks ago! and hospitilized in October! I am just so frustrated and I don't know what else to do... I am taking EVERYTHING! advair, xopenex, zrytec, singulair (1) atrovent... I am using my inhalers way too much. Is there an alternative to predinsone? I really don't like taking that wish I could breath Kay
Guest guest
Kay, You know your body better than anyone, and if you think you need the E.R. then you get your butt in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think 2 singulars would be good, that drug is a 24 hr..one and doubling it would dry you out too much, hard on all your organs. Please go to E.R or at the very least call your Dr. keep us posted Please Donna taking more than prescribed (singulair) > I am having horrible asthma issues today. Guest guest
HI I know you are on alot of stuff for asthma but I also noticed singular and zyrtec (allergy med) have you had a work up done by an allergiest? I just switched to one and am taking shots and feeling soooo much better. just a thought. I was in the same boat you were for years I could not get my asthma under control and so switched to a specialist. Guest guest
Becky, I too take more than just xyzal when the allergies are at their worst I'll take Benadryl too. I can't afford to have the cold everyone else is getting, and I find I'm not having as many episodes. so yes, you may very well be on to something From: asthma [mailto:asthma ] On Behalf Of abbj2002Sent: Monday, December 01, 2008 4:17 PMTo: asthma Subject: Re: taking more than prescribed (singulair) HI I know you are on alot of stuff for asthma but I also noticed singular and zyrtec (allergy med) have you had a work up done by an allergiest? Guest guest
Oh Kay. I have been fighting with mine as well for the last couple of weeks off and on, and I completely understand your aversion to the ER and hospitalization. I have been there more than my fair share in the last year. I haven't ever doubled up on my singulair (although I am now on Zyflo and Clarinex instead of Singulair), but I will double or triple my albuterol/iptatroprium meds. I use a nebulizer, but your inhaler will open you up. Also, try hot cocoa or better yet coffee. Caffiene is a natural bronchodialator. Unfortunately, I have not found anything to replace the steroids. I am on super high dosages, and they keep me stable. However, they cause all sorts of other issues. So, breathe and slowly poison myself with steroids or not breathe and die fast without them??? Not much question there. As far as the different steroids go, in my experience the side effects are pretty much the same with them all. Although, I have heard from others that they tolerate Medrol better than Prednisone. Maybe I don't see a difference because the doses are so high. Don't put off going to your doc or the ER if you need too. It is not worth it. Hugs. Guest guest
I don't think taking two singulair would even do anything. You need a breathing machine at home to administer liquid albuterol. I forgot what the machine is called. If you are using your rescue inhaler and it isn't helping then yes you need to go to the ER. Guest guest
Caffiene oh boy that's another issue... I am not supposed to drink too much coffee or caffienated beverages because I have uterine fibroids. Apparently fibroids love to grow bigger and caffiene only makes them grow bigger. :-( sighsea_girl111 wrote: Madeline,Would Tilade or Intal work for what you have?Alana>> Oh Kay. Guest guest
I just looked up those meds as I don't have any experience with them. I think that their anti-inflammatory ingredients work in a similar manner to that in Symbicort even though they are different drugs. Although, I will put them on my list to ask Dr. Beebe about when I see him again on the 17th. Thank you. Madeline > > > > Oh Kay.
