Oops. Forgot to mention they are also upping my Xanax. That is the

only thing today that doesn't upset me too much. At least that makes

me feel good! LOL

Vent away . . . that's what we're here (hmmm, maybe that should be 'hear') for.

Trusting that tomorrow will be a better day,

Hi all. I have had a very rough day and need to vent a little bit. For the last several days my "side effect" symptoms have majorlyintensified. My stomach has gained over 4 inches, the shakes aredriving me nuts, I am sweating all the time, the rash is twice as badas it was, back in compression hose because I have started retainingwater in a major way again, peak flows are fluctuating too much, nausea, extra fatigue and it is raining today..... So, I called myworkers comp nurse this morning & she sent me directly to theendocronologist. It seems that I am having withdrawal symptoms fromthe prednisone. She also thinks that I may be in the very earlystages of renal failure which would be caused by the withdrawal! So,now I go backwards. Back up to 55mg/day for the rest of this week andtwo more weeks. Then we will try to start a taper again at a rate of2.5mg/day every two weeks instead of 5. Then if I

have symptoms wewill have to stop it again and up the methotrexate. I am sofrustrated. I was so excited. I was supposed to drop to 45mg/daystarting Monday. She said I have just been on such high doses for solong that my body doesn't want to let it go! AAARRRGGGGHHHHH! !!!!!! Thanks for listening. Feel better already.Madeline

As to the venting -

Thanks Rose. I am ok. Just frustrated. I am generally one of those

people who drive everyone else nuts because I am very optimistic and

cheerful. So, I am already feeling a lot better this morning. It

just really discouraged me for a few minutes last night. I just

really want to get better and keep making steps forward. Not

backwards! LOL

Hi all. Sorry I've been kind of quiet this weekend. I have really

been very sick and very tired with these withdrawal effects. I am a

bit nervous about the blood results I should have first thing in the

morning. Dr. kind of hinted that I may have to spend a day or

so in the hospital depending on how far down my kidney function

actually is. They don't think it is emergency (or he wouldn't have

let me go through the weekend), but I have had a good bit of off and

on nausea and have had to measure my input/output. My input is almost

twice my output. Not too good. I'll update you all again after I see

the doc in the am. I am still in these stupid compression stockings

as well, but I am seeing some relief from the increase in the

prednisone as far as the " shakes " and other symtoms that had gotten

very bad last week are concerned. So, two steps forward and one step

back. This stuff is so nasty. Wish we could just put me in the

hospital for a week or so and just kill it very quickly, but I know

that in reality that can't happen! Think about me in the morning.

Love you all!
