Guest guest
There are some speculations out there that they might be taking it off the shelf...nothing is for sure until it happens. I used to use Primatene Mist like some 25 years ago....it was awful...it did not help with my asthma attacks then, and it cost an arm and a leg...for no help. Now days I find prescribed inhalers to be much more better for me, and does the job better...like Proventil or Ventolin. I have found in my long years of having asthma, that over the counter medicines are not effective, and some can cause heart and kidney problems. Anyone with diagnosed asthma should be going to a doctor for it...and getting the right prescription medicines for it. Asthma is nothing to be trying to fix over the counter medicines or pure homeopathic solutions. This is my opinion...from hard core experiences at trying both of the previous. Asthma is deadly if not controlled properly. If one does not have insurance...one needs to find the right channels in the system to aid and assist. For example, I was pregnant with my third child...for sure to be a c-section because back then once a c-section always a c-section. My then husband had insurance with the company he worked for. He quit the job...we had no more insurance. I flipped out....the county would not take me because he made too much money in the previous months. I was totally on my own with a c-section on top of that!! The Catholic Hospital bailed me out in Phoenix Arizona.....they had a sliding scale thing...nothing to do with how much he made in the prior months. There is help out there...one just needs to find out the proper channels to go through. The county would not even pretend to take me in at the time of birth, but the Catholic Hospital gave me the rest of the prenatal care, plus did the c-section...we had to come up with some money...but it was not like completely denying me because of how the system works and the government. Bottom line is stay away from Primatene...it is not good for the heart or kidneys....best to find a better cleaner medication I am sorry!!! I did not mean to write so much!!!!! Happy Holidays!!! It damaged my lungs as a child and is a big part of the reason my Asthma was so bad! My lungs have permament scarring inside them from this nasty stuff. Im sorry for you if they are but Asthma should be treated and kept track of by a dr. Not OTC meds. thats my take on this subject. Guest guest
I believe we ALL value our independence, but at what risk? If its been proven that the stuff is dangerous, (which it has), then it needs to be taken off the market, especially when there is enough other medicine out there that has been proven to be much safer than this stuff. Ive taken it years ago as well and the stuff had nasty side effects.
