Sherry, you seem to be talking about drugs here. It is not the role of the FDA to do the research for a company when they introduce a new drug. The company must first prove to the FDA that the drug is viable and won't kill anybody. Then they are allowed to perform human trials that can take up to five years to complete. Typically three human trials will take place in a well known hospital(s). At the end of each trial the FDA will review the progress and many drugs are kicked out after the first, second, and even after the last trial. True some drugs do get through and part of the reason for this is because people don't want to wait and the Clinton administration put pressure on the FDA to allow some drugs to go through on a " fast track " process. > How many " Doctors " do you know who admately expound the virtues of Vitamin E > for healing, and as many who are just as adamate that it does no good at > all. Are they doing their own research or taking info from others research? That is slowly changing with Vitamins and some herbs. Doctors today simply don't have the time to do the research themselves. My doctor has over a thousand patients and puts in incredibly long hours. Most doctors rely on either scientific evidence or from information that is supplied them from the salespeople who work for drug companies. Pat. Peace, Joy, Serenity House of Scents tm.
