Guest guest
Kay, What about the newer medications like Zyflo, Singulair, Xolair, etc...? I have never been on any of them, but they are supposed to work. Of course, it would not hurt to try one of the cromolyn or nedocromil inhalers. (Very safe stuff, no side effects, it's a win-win no matter how you slice it.) Alana > > There has to be something else beside prednisone. It helps with my breathing but the side effects are just horrible. The weight gain and mood swings (for me anyway) I can't sleep at night while take this stuff. I was in the hospital for four days. The skin was completely burnt off my entire body. My allergist believes it was a s- reaction, as I had it from sulfa back in the 80's. I will never take it again. My allergist told me there are other things they can give me if I get that bad. I don't know what drugs she is referring to, but I know I will never take prednisone again. Marge MMR allergic to prednisone hi to all! i was in the hospital for four days. was dischargedyesterday. i had another attack last thursday, went to the E.R. thedoctors fr. the E.R. could not hear any wheezing from my lungs, that's probably because of my ventolin inhaler and my neb starting tokick in.after my x-ray and my blood tests, they found out my segmenters are alittle high. they said i have infection. then they discharged me.... ican't believe that they want to send me home without informing mypulmo dr. and my nails are already bluish from the lack of oxygen.anyway, i went directly to my dr's clinic and had a check up. mydoctor admitted me to the hospital and told me that it wascatastrophic to let me go home in my condition. i was given steroidswhich from the past i know that i has an allergic reaction to it, butthey said it was not supposed to give me an allergic reaction. butunfortunately, i had anaphylactic reaction to it. i want to know if anybody else here is allergic to prednisone. mydoctor told me i was his only patient who is allergic to that. andthat he wanted me to be his case study.... I went to my dermatologist and she said it was prednisone induced acne! never had that happen before. She gave me a cream to put on my face called "duac" and that BROKE me out even more. Actually felt like it was burning my face. My skin got red. I had to wash it off and have not used it since. There has to be something else beside prednisone. Guest guest
hi again. i just want to share my new experience with doxycycline. it's an antibiotic that my doctor prescribed, b/c i am allergic to steroids. so instead, he gave me doxycycline. and it really worked for me. no more asthma induced cough, no more wheezing.
