Guest guest
But with the force it comes out how would the meds actually get into the lungs? I still think the spacer is the way to go. And My asthma specialist was the one to show me HOW to use an inhaler prior to the spacer was to put it in the mouth exhale and then press the inhaler. Terry I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much. ~Mother Teddy Bear's Early Learning Program Established August of 1992 Matt There has been a lot of posts the last few days, but I wanted to thank you for the one about if you do not use a spacer, to keep the inhaler and inch away when spraying. I never knew this and I have started doing it since you wrote it. I had always put the inhaler in my mouth. Guest guest
yes you are right the spacer is the way to go...but if one does not use a spacer at least don't hold it in your mouth...I think that is what Matt said. I guess I better go and find his email LOL!! Terry wrote: But with the force it comes out how would the meds actually get into the lungs? I still think the spacer is the way to go. Guest guest
This is how I was taught as well. That was with the old version of Albueterol. The new versions don't 'puff' as hard. I wonder if the 1 inch space needs to change? A call to the nurse may be informative, if not the nurse, maybe the pharmacist. Guest guest
The pharmacist told me yesterday that the new so called albuteral(has a new name now) will be harder to suck in than it is now. Yesterday when my son got his albuteral, they said he won't get it again after yesterday. New stuff coming out. Guest guest
The pharmacist says to put it just onto your lips and inhale deeply OR use the chamber Terry I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. Guest guest
Okay, I see what you all are talking about. Yes, always a chamber if you can. I never heard holding an emer haler away from your mouth but I never tried it. The chamber doesn't do me much good, I have to have that dog gone nebilizer and fomoteral and steriods.
