Guest guest
Retailers in the US will soon begin charging a fee for using credit cards. Credit card companies have been charging retailers an extra fee of up to 3% of a sale for the use of credit cards. Retailers are sick of eating the cost and will pass it on as a fee on top of everything else. You've got to love how Democrats say they are looking out for the little guy when in reality they just screw them over. Thing is the Democrats know how to do it in such as way that the retailers will take the blame, not the credit card companies the Democrats are working for nor the twice removed from the act Democrats themselves. I am referring to the -Dodd Wall Street and Consumer Protection Act. It certainly does protect Wall Street but sticks it to the rest of us. http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/07/27/seen-at-11-retailers-ready-to-force-consu\ mers-to-pay-swipe-fee-for-using-plastic/ I could understand a dollar or two per charge but a percentage of the sale is just highway robbery. It is really amazing what the banks are getting away with though. Bank of America charges a $3 fee per check on writes. Credit card rates are going up and the numbers of fees and such are multiplying. Most of it is because of government rules and deals. Anyway, I'm going to be watching the receipts and if I start seeing those charges anywhere I'll either shop elsewhere or start carrying the checkbook or cash for purchases.
