I'm pretty > sure he'll show up in another BFL club somewhere. , I know from a previous group and he can't be talked to, he comes back with insult after insult, that is why I banned him. Example " the list was supertraining " and he asked about chromium supplementation, alot of these people are experts in the field of sports nutrition and sports science and when they quoted studies and told him it wouldn't be worth his money or time and they offered other alternatives, he called them a bunch of close minded f*#ks, and none of this was provoked, just like the attack today. and he doesn't follow the BFL plan, he follows his own plan and wants you to critique it and if you don't agree with him and his philosophy watch out. IMHO it was best that he was banned, if any disagrees please contact me off list and I will be glad to discuss it with you Bill
Guest guest
Bill, Thank you for handling this so expeditiously. We cannot allow anyone to treat members with such disregard for personal feelings. As a group we must also strive to remain " layman " in our advice and leave the scientific analysis and/or diagnosis of individual behavior up to the professionals who get paid to do that sort of thing. There are some key elements to responding to a member's post, elements that we must always keep in mind: 1- Our list is over 1000 members strong and growing. With those kinds of numbers we are bound to get messages from individuals who are not as emotionally resilient as others. It is a consequence of growth. Please try your best to be kind to everyone. 2- I do not recommend ANYONE in the group presume to diagnose another member's neuroses, psychoses, etc. It's not good judgment and certainly lacks in politeness. No one wants a complete stranger telling him or her they have an eating disorder, hormone problem, lazy spouse, bad kids...or ANYTHING ELSE for that matter. This is especially taboo in a forum where 1000 other " strangers " are watching. The Body for Life forum is about advice, layman advice. Support. Mentoring. Motivation. Encouragement. Inspiration. Too often members believe that when someone asks a question it gives them Carte Blanche to give their uncensored opinion. That's really not the case. Members -- moderators especially -- are here to inspire, encourage and get others to " stick with it one more day! " Moderators and members are not here to play doctor, but be a friend to those who need someone to help them or at least to listen. Some people just need to vent. They don't need commentary on what they've said. And that's okay! Really! As long as their venting doesn't emotionally injure anyone else. They may simply need to get it out of their system. I found the following to be true 99% of the time. When questions are asked by new members they generally want one of two things: 1) To be told how close they are to doing it right 2) To know if YOU can tell them how to do it better WITHOUT making them feel like CRAP. As a member of this group you have the awesome potential to invoke self-confidence in others. With the power of your GOOD words you can help someone transform their body – and transform their lives! I urge you to treat people the way you'd like to be treated, with kindness and understanding. Angelo Bell Founder and Chief Moderator Body-for-Life Group (Power-4-Life Fitness Fighters) > > P.S.
