Guest guest
Oh I hear ya about the xray people! I was waiting for my xray one time<on the way to be admitted so I was bad!> and this lady was in the waiting room, waiting, not ill!, and all she wanted to do was talk! She talked the whole time asking me questions..oh have you been to Africa..I was wearing a zoo shirt!..telling me ALL about her asthma..her talking wasnt bad...but the ten thousand questions was a little over board! People make me laugh sometimes! But yes you are right, I do the best to take care of this illness, and yesterday was a better day! and then to have her say you look rough...that kinda sucked! The people in the hospital, nurses, techs, aides, they always get me too! OH you sound SOOOOOO BAD. that is usually on day 3...its like, you should have seen me when I came in! Or when I am being discharged and they say..Are you SURE you are ready to go home? I would love to stay in the hospital for 2 weeks til I could breathe perfect..but my kids are at my sisters and my daycare kids have no where else to go...people just dont get it! wow..this turned into a vent too! Sorry! I am awaiting this week, hopefully today, the results of blood work that will have a HUGE impact on my life..so I am a bit stressed! Anita Re: the comments from friends I know what you mean. You are trying your best to battle this and someone tells you that you look terrible. I'm sure that they mean well and are just concerned about you but it is disturbing. I was getting a chest xray at the hospital and had a coughing attack ,but was in no danger .and the xray tech and nurse wanted me to go to the ER. I guess I must look really bad when I cough but I know my body and I know when I need help. It was a little upsetting to have people percive me that way too. You and your doctor know what's best for you. I hope things get better. Tom > > i guess I am ultra sensitive right now with the extent of my illness<es>. Today I went on a trip with a friend of mine and we got to talking. She told me I should check into getting disability. She told me I dont look good or sound good<now I KNOW this, but to have someone point it out?!> I am frustrated that it evident to the people around me...well except for my sister who really is clueless...just continues to smoke away... Anyway, I guess this is a vent more than anything else. > > I am dealing with a lot right now related to my health, but I am young! I dont want to have to quit working! Guest guest
Gotta love 'friends'! My twin is a massive chimney..smokes 2-3 packs a day..she picked me up the other day to rush me to the ER...and decided she had to smoke in the car with me<max five minute drive> Umm hello what part of CAN"T breathe does she not get? Gasping for breath at 31 while smokers puff away destroying their lungs tends to irritate me to no end...UGGH Anita Re: the comments from friendsVenting is good: non-asthmatics can be so clueless! One day when I was huffing and puffing rather a lot an acquaintance cheerfully remarked that my problem was surely the very dusty neighborhood we lived in and, and that now that my lungs were full of dust I would surely be in just this condition permanently. > > > i guess I am ultra sensitive right now with the extent of my illness<es>. Guest guest
I hear you Anita. My sister smokes and I have been her chaufauer for the last few months because of a hip replacement. I make my car smoke free so my daughter and I have a place we don't have to breath in other peoples smoke(my husband smokes also). she has a fit that she can't smoke because of the stress she is under. most places I take her to are a few minutes away. They just don't get it, aahhh. jean ---- Anita W wrote: > Gotta love 'friends'!
