Congrats to him. We wish him..happy days..ahead (Am..I correct,in framing this sentence,Kishoreda??..) Shivkumar's.mention..out here..takes me..back..many many years..ago,to 1984,when...I had..joined.MGIMS.. He..was a close roommate..of Rakesh Sethi(81-Anaesthesia)..who in turn..was a good friend..of my batchmate,Anil Mishra. So,we..would..bump..into..Pundkar..quite often,in the..E block.... He..was a source..of inspiration..for..us..in more ways than one.. As a Cultural Secretary..along..with Ninad Tambe,the President,they both were instrumental..in..persuading..me..to play the role..of a character actor..in the Marathi Play,directed.by Tambe,Saste(?78/?79)..and Prof.Khapre,inwhich..I ended up..bagging,..the first prize..inspite..of my short role,..as the rest..kept forgetting their dialogues.,..while..I..was quite..clear.with my 2-3 sentences. Then,as a Classic Illustrator..he..was instrumental..in..drawing..the cover page..of..our Sushruth,college magazine..during my tenure,as a magazine..secretary.in addition..to various..painting..during the annual college..gatherings..which..were displayed..in that..cleaned..Anatomy hall,along..with..very beautiful..Rangolis...by..the staf ladies..,students..and Late Sujata Bele. Last,but not the least,..he..was..the one..who..made..our tensions..just..disappear..during...our..1st MBBS exams.. How..??!! Well,when..the exam dates..drew near,..tension..was at the peak.and one day..we landed..at Rakesh Sethi's room..,to help us..calm..our nerves... And he summoned..Pundkar..and..went..on to narrate..how..Pundkar.,had never.let tension..during exams..ever affect him. And to highlight the point..Sethi said,that..just a couple..of days..before..the..Physiology Theory,..Pundkar..was..busy reading. for the Biochem..theory,..as he..had..been wrongly informed..of the time table..only..to..start.revising...24hrs..before..the start..of the exams ...and yet managing...to score..good marks... Since then,we.always..remembered...Pundkar..whenever..the going was tense,..during all those exams.. Good old days.. ' 81 BATCH.brings...to memories..Sushobit Verma.,Rakesh Sethi..,Amal Tandon..and..some of the rest. Hope u all have a great time.. ??Iranian. Good times...to show.. Indo-Iranian friendship..in this..era..of..US-Iran..hostile..environment... Bye.
