Hi, Genie and everyone -- thanks for all the great info. again, Genie

-- I'll e-mail you separately but wanted to post here too because of

the issue with T3 and heart palps... I believe Miaja told me that when

she added T3 her heart palps went away. Is my Hashi brain remembering

correctly?? I have also read that palps are a symptom of being hypo..

and lots of people on these lists have them, I thought. Atrial

fibrillation is like the severe form of palps, right? Indeed, I had

the fibrillation episode when I was severely hypothyroid (TSH jumped

from 52 to 72 in 2 days).

Anyway... here is where I'm at.. I'm afraid it involves a bit of

stubbornness on my end! I have an appt. with the new endo who sounds

cool on Sept. 16. I also remembered that my current endo never

canceled my prescription for 100 mcg Levoxyl when I was taking that

about 6 months back... SO... you can guess the rest, I had the

prescription filled and started it today. I know, I know, BAD Hashi

girl!! :-) (But maybe if this doc really gave two hoots about my

condition he'd keep a closer eye on all this stuff anyway.) I would

just rather take the same dosage every day if I'm going to be at

'about' that amount anyway. I'm going to see if I feel any better and

if this thyroid of mine shrinks, then discuss all that with my new

endo. I am pretty good at sensing when I'm about to go hyper... I've

told docs several times I could feel it... so please don't be

concerned I'm putting myself in danger. Plus my new appt. is less than

a month away (can't believe how lucky I am there).

Okey doke, all -- signing off!

Hi Mriganka,

Well I have been more of a passive participant in mgims group, cannot pinpoint

about writing regularly!

Yes, it always a delight to read mails from my colleagues, about MGIMS being in

top 20(TIL LKKYE TIL ALLE as they say in danish - Congratulations to all) the

success at MRGOG of Dr Seema (congrats to her), Asawaris inputs at times are

thought provoking at times and so many more..........

There are 3 of us from MGIMS who are based in Denmark presently. Sunjiev

Singh(Panwar) from 84, Rajeev Gambhir from 87 n myself from 90.

We are a part of 26 docs who came here last december. The 3 of us are working at

University hospital at Aarhus, which is supposedly the 2nd largest city of

denmark, but with a population of 5 lakhs or so!!!!!

Its a nice working environment with extremely well equipped hospitals and

ofcourse a laid back lifestyle, which particularly is impossible in India!

Hi

Am fine here. Infact Sunjiev Panwar stays above my apartment! Both of us are

also in the same hospital and meet daily.

Life is good here with regulated working hours and weekends off. So in a way its

relaxed at work place. The colleaugues are very good so its fine so far.

Daily life is certainly expensive if we compare with India but thts expected.

The places even 300 years old are very immaculately maintained, most of the

things are spic n span. The buses run on dot time, have encountered only once a

bus being delayed 2 min. The tax system is on of the highest but the govt

provides lot of amenities to the citizens.

In the summers the country just changes in color and character with lots of

greenery which just springs overnite and people in more jovial mood are out in

the open after a dark and drag winter. All in all its been a good experience

here but ofcourse one does miss the bharatiya experience of being sometimes

unsystematic!!

Ajay,

You have had enough of your bhartiya experience....yaar, so now enjoy whats

around. Say hi to my old friend Sanjeev....tell him, we will be waiting for him

on December 25th for our get-together. I think that the Denish people are very

nice....place as you describe is good too. People have to pay a lot in

taxes...isnt it? How about you people , do you have to pay taxes there?

Sunil Takiar is of course, referring to the fact that Sunil Taneja of 1974

successfully wooed and married a girl from Takiar's batch 1976, Gauri Tuli.

This is to clarify things for those who came in late.

My pleasure Amit - though I sincerely don't feel I'm " that " senior (I feel

much younger) ;-)

So we would all be comfortable here if we could drop titles such as Sir and

Madam :-D

Dear Gursharan

I think that when you respect a person, the " Sir " is a natural complement to your

salutations.

In our setup, though " saying it with Sir " is a protocol affair, you love saying

Sir to a person out of regards for his seniority and for his professional

knowledge and his/her conduct.....Which makes it pleasurable for both the

partners.

It is in real Lakhnavi andaaz when two people " SIR " each other for mutual

admiration and respect.

No harm done........
