Guest guest
I just started treatment with a very leary 61 year old patient. She's excited to start her " journey " to health and claims to be healthy as a horse, but has many different issues going on (including the removal of her gallbladder 4 years ago). I started her on BTG's, enzymes and castor oil packs, as I was willing to wait on the diet changes until after the holidays. She's been fighting me on most things, seeming interested at first, then sending passive emails asking " is this really necessary, " etc. Once we get back on track she seems ok. Then, this morning I got an email saying the castor oil pack made her liver hurt. I called her to verify - " how do you know it's your liver? " She said it was because it's under where I told her to put the pack. It's not like an acute pain, but she's aware of it. She couldn't describe it other than that. I told her she would feel effects from the pack, but it shouldn't be painful and recommended she do every other day until she got more used to it. Has anyone else expereinced/heard this, or is it just a line I haven't gotten before? ~ McElveen, ND Portland, OR www.baremedicine.com
