Guest guest
I have both CFS and Fibro. One of my biggest struggles is with pain. I have several different types of pain: Achey joints, migraines, sciatica & dual hip pain (which feels arthritic). However, the worst and most baffling pain feels like a burning muscle in my upper legs: from my quadriceps to my hips. It is mostly on the top and sides of my legs. Eventually, the pain radiates to all over my body. It is as if the muscles are so tense that they are binding themselves up. Ironically, before I was sick, my quads were some of my strongest muscles. I used to run, bike, x-country ski. This pain can come after weeks of rest or after a little activity. Pain killers do little to relieve it. Massage CAN sometimes help but it doesn't always. My question: WHY does the pain appear in that part of my body (upper leg)? When I am resting, my legs are still. I usually feel it either immediately upon wakening or after ANY activity (like getting dressed). Of course, stress exacerbates it. I've tried everything: Magnesium, flax seed oil, relaxing herbs, anti-anxiety medicine, Whey. What is going here and how can I tame it so that I can function? I'm hanging by a thread...
