Guest guest
Firoz Borle (2002) there is no infrastructure at kharangna gode, electricity seldom comes, for water - one handpump present, snakes often visit, a very old vehicle present - averaging 7 km per lit, limited stock of medicines ( less than that is mandatory for a PHC). but its good, i have to stay there, but as there is a senior medical officer we do that alternately. i have to use my vehicle for outreach activites, lets see how much i get for TADA. overall its excellent center for studies.i think learning skills can be done during pg. this is the time to study and prepare, there is no point in pursuing the age old strategy of learning the skills and exhausting urself during rural service. One more plus point is that its situated 1 km out of the village so un-necessary local politicians dont visit.Daily opd count is minimum 90/day now a days. I think every one should be given a PHC as a rural center so that our poor fellows can earn a bit.Other centers treat our college doctors as peons, paying them a poultry 8000 to 11000 Rs/month (which will be the minimum pay of a class 3 govt employee under 6th pay commison). Which i think considering todays inflation rate is quite pathetic. A total review of the centers should be done and facilites and pay should be decided by college ( min 15000/month). Worst centers are those in gujrat, shirdi and some of the centers in chattisgarh, orissa where our doctors are literally treated as dogs.My batchmates in gujrat(Ankaleshwar) who resingned recently because their pay was 10000 and they had to spend 5000 on food because the pathetic food these gujjus eat, moreover they had to purchase Bisleri mineral water daily as the ground water there is polluted. (Ankaleshwar is the 11th most polluted city in the world). and they had to stay in a very filthy (Purani haweli) type accomodation. I think people should think twice before going to such places. Actually if these people ( rural center owners) want to employ a plain MBBS doctor as medical officer they will have to pay them at least above 15000/month, and because they get our doctors at cheaper rates they harass us. Hope better sense prevails. I see that you are now a Med Officer at Kharangna Gode, a place which we had only read on the bus destination plates. How is life there? Kishore Shah 1974 Download prohibited? No problem. Guest guest
Dear Firoze, I have worked in a centre 20 kms out of Ankleshwar......... way back in 98 n 99 ....and they used to pay me almost 9900 then...... strange the salaries remain the same since then....... and i actually loved my stay there. i remember Dr. Ravi from 91 batch working in Ankleshwar. It is a chemical city ...where chemicals are released every evening ........ in the atmosphere.... badboo ka golaa....u have to stay indoors at these times. And centres in gujrat are way advanced n have lot of work . They are not the centres where you can study. Gujjus take pride in themselves but are very helpful. And even the villages are far more developed than the district places in vidharba.Their living standards were far higher even in villages..... except of course the tribals. Gujrat holds a special place in my heart . And i had loved shopping in bharuch , baroda n surat. ...... all well connected by local trains . Still the taste of Khari sengh( salted peanuts) n Bhakar vadi lingers . And so do the vast range of besan preparations .....which gujratis can alone prepare..... The food though sweet , had its own special taste. And i had my best days there. I am surprised that things have changed drastically over the years.
