Guest guest
My 2-1/2 yr old daughter was diagnosed with moderate to severe verbal apraxia about 10 mth ago. Things are moving really slowly despite speech therapy. I'm really interested in hearing more success stories from those of you who tried and found some success with Pro EFA, as this is all new to me. As I said she's 2-1/2, weighs approximately 32 lbs, so how much would she get? Also, is the taste bad? She is an extremely picky eater, so I worry I won't even be able to get her to try it. ANy suggestions. Thanks so much and I'm so glad I found this site:)
Guest guest
, Parents start their children on one capsule a day. I got my son to take it by mixing the oil from the capsule (pierce and squeeze method) into caffeine free diet coke (it is lemon flavored.) Diet coke is something he obviously doesn't get to partake in typically so he slurped it up delighted that I was " giving in. " I figure 1/2 an ounce of d.c. won't hurt him. So if there is a food/drink you routinely don't allow, this could be a time to loosen the rule and let her have a tiny bit to get the oil in as it apparently has a stong flavor to it. Maybe after you just try to give it in her juice, etc. Wiley is 2 1/2 and weighs 29 pounds. He had a bit of a loose stools problem after starting - if this happens with the one capsule, it is fine to just reduce the amount until the initial adjustment has been made. Or you could try by starting with just 1/2 a capsule - though the majority of the children put on these supplements did not experience any tummy side effects, so a capsule initially would probably be fine. Wiley is on a drug for reflux that makes digestion uneasy to begin with. Good luck! Betsy >My 2-1/2 yr old daughter was diagnosed with moderate to severe verbal >apraxia about 10 mth ago. Guest guest
Refer to post 10104. You can get EFA's at GNC. There are lots of different brands of EFA's, but the one referred to here is called ProEFA and if you go to post #10104 it will tell you where to go online to purchase ProEFA. Not all EFA's are the same, so keep that in mind while considering which one to buy. After MUCH research, I decided that ProEFA was my best bet for results.
