Guest guest
To Dr. Lawrence Laveman MD I need your opinion on something. We live in Italy where as you well know is a little behind in medical matters. Therefore I am taking my daughter Jasmine to the states this summer to test her. She basically has a motor planning probem, gros motor on one side of her body, she is very stiff in her movements and in her speech.Very poor balance. She has an intolerance for dairy products. She is in second grade in the american school here and is reading but with some reversal with letters and words. Her sounds are a little off. The ot I finally found here said its like she has a traffic jam inside her....She is ready to work with her but needs the diagnosis first. Well..Here is what I need..I have already made an appointment with a neuroligist in the same place we had a analysis done 4 years ago and a mri done last year. However who else should I see? OT probably. and what about a developmental ped.? or what else do you suggest? Thank you for your time, is Agosti Lawrence Laveman MD@... wrote: Hi : It sounds like you are doing pretty good so far ! Guest guest
Bongiorno is: I would agree with seeing the neurologist again. An OT is a good idea too - be sure you have an appointment before you leave Italy. Because of the balance issues and asymmetry you describe, a PMR specialist may also be a good idea, if you are considering braceing. A developmental ped like myself can help coordinate services, and give you a base for operations, but if you are going to stay in Italy, you might well try to find that in Italy - there are a few of us there...
