Guest guest
My ped neuro thinks my daughter might have an abnormal EEG (Zoning out and non responsive and abnormal sleep patterns) and wants to do a sleep deprived EEG next Wed. This would help tremendously for insurance because she was denied services for apraxia. We need a med. condition and so far she has no med. dx. My question is should I take her off the efa's until after the EEG. She has been much more " there " since the starting the efa's. Does anyone have any experience w/ this? BTW, our ped neuro does NOT know she is on ProEFA. Traci Mom to Kennedy 2.0 and Hunter 4.
Guest guest
Traci: I wouldn't worry about the EFA's - the effect they have, if any, is long term, and would not affect any abnormal electrical activity, if any, in the brain picked up on the EEG. I would advise (see my other email) you have an extended EEG - lasting overnight or minimum 6 hours, as the literature suggests that abnormalities leading to language impairment may not be picked up by a one hour sleep deprived EEG.
