Guest guest
JoAnn It does not matter who is on vacation. ESY services must be evaluated on an individual need basis regardless of diagnosis or classification. Kenny will be getting ESY speech this summer, he will be going into 2nd grade. We finally have a good SLP in our school system and it was obvious to her that regression would occur unless services were given. The regular SLP is on vacation so they are bring someone else into the district to provide services. They also need a SLP to provide services to children in the preschool disabled program so Ken will not be the only child in the district who needs speech. Life was not always this easy, I think it's the quality of the SLP in the school system! Keep fighting for services, don't take NO as an answer.
