Guest guest Posted May 31, 2002 Report Share Posted May 31, 2002 Carol, is your son in an out of district school or public school?The reason I ask is that if he is in an out of district school you could argue to the town that a home program that they paid for supplmented by therapies, could be cheaper or equivalent in price to what you are getting and would they at least give it a chance. Also, if your child has any medical/health issues and you can get your doctor to support you on it, you could argue that this is a good reason for the home program. I am going to start hippo therapy in Sept which will be billed as speech since the instructor is an slp. So, insurance will pay 80percent. Perhaps you could have it billed as Ot or pt and the same with swimming. Also, if your child has low tone, you could have your pt/ot recommend swimming be included in the iep.
