Guest guest
I've heard a lot of people say that...but cost per pound chips cost more than bananas or carrots for a healthy snack. Lentils are a lot cheaper than meat. Making bread from scratch is a lot cheaper than spending 3 bucks on a loaf of bread that offers you little nutrition for your money. But it is a shift in the type of cooking. We have 6 people in our family and my hubby drives 90 miles a day to and from work. So it's hard when prices are going up but you don't have to settle for cheap food...I sprout all our beans and grains...I feel so much healthier eating everything sprouted. I started a long term food storage several years ago....225 lbs of wheat, 50 lbs of oatmeal and 50 lbs of flour, 25 lbs of mung beANS, 15 lbs of white beans and other stuff. We were short on money one payday and ate entirely from it...it was a life saver. Those that don't plan ahead may have a lot more challenges depending on the future. I'm doing what I can for my family.
