Guest guest
About 30 minutes ago I got nailed behind the right ear by a yellow-striped wasp in one of my storage buildings. First thing I did was go rub some DMSO on it, then tea tree oil, then more DMSO. The DMSO was immediately pain relieving. Most pain is gone now, sting barely raised a bump. About 35 years ago I got sick from a red wasp sting but other than that I've never had any kind of bad reaction to any kind of insect sting. Been stung numurous times by yellow-striped wasps as they are more aggressive than Reds. But- if a Red ever nails you, you'll know it. That was my only time from a Red. So- since this was on the head, I called my wife so she would know what happened if she finds me cold;>) Daddybob
Guest guest
I sat on a Red Wasp a few years ago. It hurt like heck. I put ammonia on it to neutralize the venom. It left a hole in my leg. Guest guest
spark (from say a spark plug) will neutralize all venom as well as pain and swelling. But I am happy to hear that DMSO will help too. I would have not thought of that. Guest guest
Spark plug. That is pretty heavy duty. Got any more information on voltage and current or if DC or AC is required? Do you have any information links/references? I have stopped the itch of bites with as little as a 9 voltage battery.Subject: Re: Wasp stingTo: DimethylSulfoxide-DMSO Date: Friday, August 22, 2008, 10:17 AM spark (from say a spark plug) will neutralize all venom as well as pain and swelling. Guest guest
When I first heard about using spark, they referrenced to the stun gun and criss crossing over the bite just like you would if using a knife. Here's a link: http://www.teslatech.info/ttstore/report/articles/v1n1art/snake.htm A nine volt probably would work on stings though, that's a good idea. A nine volt is a good idea for a wasp sting, they really do itch. Guest guest
>Is the reaction from Poison Ivy a fungus or what? What is the mechanism which causes the reaction? That would tell you if DMSO would be effective as a treatment.< - the guy wa covered up in poison ivy and was about to scratch himself to bleeding. He was in misery and I was looking at a possible work comp claim. I knew DMSO and Tea Tree Oil were both strong solvents that would break down the alkaloids so I gave them to him to rub on. As an external cure, it worked very fast, but later I realized that it could have possibly been dangerous to carry those toxins inside of him. Fortunately, that either didn't happen -or- he got totally whacked out that night on drugs so he couldn't tell the difference, and I'll never know. He was a bad drug user and I fired him over that a few weeks later. Daddybob
Guest guest
Yes, me too. But they must have tuned it down somehow because they treated a 4 year old's brown recluse bite. And they spoke about a modified stun gun too. Oh my goodness are you Daddybob, from the MSM list? Your wife had skin cancer years ago I think? Or do I have you confused? Or do I have you confused? < Well I am confused much of the time;>) I used to own/moderate and MSM group but that's been defunct for years. Do you mean MMS list? If so, yes I've been active there, but no, my wife doesn't have skin cancer. Daddybob
Guest guest
wow well I am glad to see you! The MSM group is the one. Yes it has been a very long while. I thought I remembered your wife successfully treating skin cancer on her back, but that was obviously somebody else, possibly on that list. Maybe the CS list. Who knows!
