Guest guest
Toxic family members - Hi Lou, Don't even get me started! LOL! Alana > > Terry, > You are a sweetheart. I can always count on you for comforting, kind and caring words. It's like receiving a warm hug from a sister. Thank you for reminding me, I'm not alone and people in this group really do care. > > This asthma is not only hard on our bodies, lifestyles, but most of all relationships. I really appreciate you reminding me again, I'm not alone. > My sister just bought her first home and has been living there for 5 weeks. She moved my mother in with her because she has RA and needed to live in a single level. My parent's home is as tri-level. Whenever I go see her, I start wheezing, shortness of breath and get all congested. This even happens when I wear double masks and stay for 5 minutes. My husband even has to take a zyrtec and he doesn't have allergies or asthma. I've tried to tell her it's a fabric softener, air freshener etc. She has made some changes and seems to be open to the fact I'm allergic to something in her home. NOW my mother is a different story. Se loves to tell me, I'm the only person that has said anything. Not one family member or any of their friends including several Priests, have commented what a " sweet " fragrance there is in the house. My mother has asked each person, supposedly, for each visitor's input. She is trying to make me feel odd. Now it's the holiday weekend and we are suppose to go there to celebrate. UGH! This disease is challenging enough with the drugs, feeling ill, every day with new obstacles, controlling my meds, symptoms, concerned about side effects etc. etc. Then on top of all of it, I have so called friends and real family members who don't understand. > Thanks for always being there with an encouraging word for me and everyone else too. > God Bless You, Terry! Breathe easy, my dear friend! > Lou >
Guest guest
No fair, I call a foul, you have to talk. Lou and I did. Terry I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much. ~Mother Teddy Bear's Early Learning Program Established August of 1992 Toxic family members Toxic family members - Hi Lou, Don't even get me started! LOL! Guest guest
LOL! Hi Terry, It's just the whole " toxic people " thing - you know - unsupportive family members who don't understand. I am very lucky to not have this problem, but some people are not as fortunate. A perfect example is this section from Lou's post - >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> " She is trying to make me feel odd. Now it's the holiday weekend and we are suppose to go there to celebrate. UGH!
