Guest guest
>From what I've seen here, many people have hf autistic or PPD kids who have made great gains. Ivan is smack-dab in the middle of the spectrum, and is just starting to attempt language. He babbles a lot, mimics his older sister, loves to run and play and play with dolls. I'm still worried, though, that maybe the protocol won't help him. Has anyone else done this and started with a non-verbal kid? What was it like?< , I just wanted to add that when my son was your age, he was also non-verbal. If he's babbling and attempting language now (my son started at 33 months and at 4.5 is now quite verbal, if not yet conversational), he may not be as low on the spectrum as you think. Plus, he's imitating his sister and likes to run and play with dolls...these are good signs. I do know that there are quite a few people on this list with non-verbal children much older than Ivan, and they are seeing progress, so please don't let that stop you.
