Guest guest
Media Kit Available - What To Do Now: We are very pleased to announce that a formal press release has hit the newswires. There is now a media kit available (www..net) which includes five press releases. This is for your distribution and usage. With this material, we have a chance to dramatically increase the awareness of . Many are working hard to see that members of the media are exposed to this information. Unfortunately, as reflected by the Time magazine cover story just two months ago, the “autistic” world is still living and is being controlled by groups started years ago and their thinking is now 30-40 years out of date. Rising above the “noise of autism”, getting the message out to the media and creating the right focus for your children is critical. We do not want to lose another generation of children and we do not have another decade or two to wait. There are three immediate areas where we need your help: 1: Send materials to the media This is a chance for each of you to pursue local recognition and awareness, which will help to expand our efforts in the national and international media. While we have released this information to the national media, a strong personal effort at the local level is vitally important to gain further attention. Please actively send the press releases to your media contacts and follow-up with them. If any members of the media express interest in speaking further they should contact Marc Share or Stoga. (Marc can be e-mailed at marc@... or contacted directly at 818-951-8579, can be reached at Carson Stoga Communications - 847/884-0000). 2: Fundraising We urgently need more funds so that efforts to raise the awareness of can continue. The ultimate goal is to create the possibility as rapidly as possible for trials of the new immune modulator drugs that our children so badly need, while creating access to qualified care, medical support services and the critical rehabilitative developmental services. In the meantime, the more money we have to raise awareness and communicate with key decision makers, the faster that will happen. Marc Share will be in touch shortly with a weekend date to hold a community fundraising effort across the country – We urge each and every one of you to get involved. 3: Video Screenings As many of you are aware, there is a three-part video available, which was filmed during the national videoconference December 1, 2001. It is a very comprehensive explanation of the hypothesis and offers the necessary scientific support as well as demonstrating some interesting and compelling neurospect scans. It also sets out the case for the development of the immune modulator drugs. A CD-ROM containing the presentation slides and other material is also part of the package. We also have brochures available in hard and soft copy form. The brochures and media materials are currently being translated into Spanish and should be available shortly, Please e-mail Marc if you need Spanish materials. We need as many parents as possible to organize days/evenings to show the videos. This material will be of interest to other parents and medical professionals. To order the video set, please visit www..net/tapeorder.htm to order on-line or the download the order form for check payments. The video & CD set cost $89 plus shipping and handling. For additional media materials visit www..net/about.htm. If you have any trouble or need any other assistance, contact the Southern California Office at 818-951-8579 for assistance. Marc can offer his thoughts on how to introduce the videos and the mix of people you might consider inviting but Doug & McCreary and/or Kathy on have just completed a successful ‘Video Presentation’ and would offer some good insight and suggestions. Join in…THE TIME IS NOW! We need each of you to get involved in one, two or ideally all of the areas mentioned above. As the scientific peer reviewed papers continue to support that these children are suffering from a neuro-immune illness, we are now presented with a wonderful opportunity to give many, many children and their families a chance at a “normal” life. We thank you in advance for whatever assistance you are able to offer. Sincerely, Goldberg, MD Marc Share, President and Executive Director, Research Institute and Parent Coalition marc@... So. Guest guest
Hi All, Doug and McCreary here. Re: Video Screenings Here are the steps we followed in setting up our Movie Day Get 3 or 4 interested people together to help out. Calculate your costs. Divide that by the minimum number of people you expect and that is your break even entry fee. Designate one for booking a location ( such as a school, rec. centre, hospital conference room, etc.) and taking care of catering ( lunch, snacks, coffee, etc. ). The second takes care of the registration process ( receiving registration forms, providing directions, processing the entry fees, etc.). Number three is responsible for " marketing " so that people will know we are out here and there is an event taking place. Get your e-flyer prepared - and it should be printable so it can also be posted on bulletin boards (I'll forward the one we used and you can plagiarize it to suit your location) - and get it distributed to any source of interested parents and professionals you can think of. We distributed to: our own personal contact lists; all of the agencies that are service providers in the autism community: public health centres, doctor's offices, speech paths, occupational therapists; any and all associations that serve the autism community and get them to post it to their e-lists. In our case the Autism Society of Ontario was a big help both from the provincial office and several local chapters. Next is follow-up. Make sure all your most interested people are confirmed and lean on them to solicit other potential attendees. On the day introduce yourself and the video very briefly and let the presentation speak for itself. Good luck. Doug and McCreary MEDIA KIT NOW AVAILABLE .....
