Hi Tess...It just goes on...I imagine that you are

weary. I'm glad that they caught your cyst earlier

this time and hope that there won't be the same

complications. I had a cyst that burst one time...it

wasn't a walk in the park. Will the fibroids shrink if

you are in menopause? Wishing you a pain free day.

Hi Iris...yes, she thnks the fibroids will shrink in menopause. I'm

glad I get a little time before the next ultra sounds.

Something a little unusual...within a few days of being diagnosed with

the huge mass on my right ovary in 1990, my mom, who had gone through

menopause a long time before, was diagnosesd with the same type & size

of mass on her left ovary...it was like a mirror image. We had our

surgeries within 3 days of each other. I believe she was 68 at the

time.

You are so sweet & thoughtful, Iris. Thanks for being my friend.

Class of '69, too.....

Hi Tess...That is really talking genetics! I hope

your cyst will behave itself and go away. You

certainly don't need any more pain. My Mom and all of

us three girls had endometriosis at about the same

age. I appreciate all of your kind words and

inspirations that you send us all. Class of 72 with

all friends in 69, 70 and 71. Iris

  • 2 years later...

Hi nna

When I was about 14 months post op I was getting my period every two

weeks... very annoying...I am VERY regular, have been having my period on

the same day of the month for 20 years... it became regular again around 24

months post op... which was about 6 months after I no longer lost weight.

I think it takes time for your body to regulate or something.

Hope that helps !

nna,

I was approximately that far out when I started experiencing problems with

my periods. Very sporadic and never knew how long or when. Went to

gynecologist and he put me on hormone pills. This helped and I took them

for approximately 4 to 5 months. I have just recently stopped taking and

only time will tell if the problem comes back.

You really should discuss this with your GYN. I went through years

of either having no periods of having one pretty continuously.

Neither is good. Please call your doctor.
