Guest guest
((((((((((((((((((((Deb)))))))))))))))))))))) Oh Deb! I'm so sorry you're hurting so much. To wait for hours at the ER to get one percocet just doesn't seem like it's worth it. Especially when you see the ortho tomorrow anyway, and you're aleady taking percocet and getting no relief. The ortho really needs to have some answers for you at this point. If he doesn't, you might want to consider a consult with another ortho. I'm not sure how that would go, after this guy's done the surgery, but I don't know any other solution. If you were healing, I wouldn't worry. But, it sounds like the knee is really doing poorly and the longer you let it go the worse it gets. I really hope he prescribes a " kick butt " anitbiotic tomorrow. Even if he doesn't think that is the problem, ask him to do it just to humor you. At least then you don't have to worry about infection. I'm going to have a long night, too. My chest is killing me. I can't lie down because it hurts too much and is hard to breathe. My joints are hurting a lot, too. My heart is even pounding, but that's probably because I'm stressed from the pain. I've taken the Lortab and a Skelaxin, but like you it hasn't done me a bit of good. I agree with what someone wrote a little while ago " I want my life back! " I'm just so sick of this. I brought the laptop in the bedroom to keep me company tonight. At least we can be miserable together! Although I'd like it much better if we were sunning on the beach sipping pina coladas (mine a virgin). Add to that a couple of your favorite cabana honeys, and we'd be set to go! After Al saying how he lives so close to where I was born, I was looking at hotels. We can stay at a four star hotel in Northbrook for $53 per night (that was in mid Nov). I can't wait to meet everyone, but especially you Deb. I wish I could give you a hug and take your pain away. You've been through so much. I'm saying a prayer right now that your pain subsides and you get some rest tonight. Sending tons of love, Carol [ ] Last Update Hi Family, I am having a VERY bad time right now. My right leg won't move and bend quite right when it is out of the brace. The swelling is extreme and I have a walnut size lump where he drained the hematoma. The pain now goes from my ankle up to my hip. I can't even lay in bed. The pain is so extreme, before it was just the movement that would cause pain. Now when I get out of bed to go to the bathroom, I can put -0- weight on it without the pain becoming absolutely excruciating and then the leg collapses. The pain pills and muscle relaxants offer no relief at all. Ron says that we should go to the ER. But I know how that will go, they will take an x-ray and they will say see your doctor in the morning and give me 1 percocet (because they have nothing stronger there), Oh, I can't believe how much pain that I am in. The day turned into night and the whole thing just got progressively worse. I hope that the doc has some answers for us, I doubt it, but I sure hope that in this case I am wrong. Still running a temp and the family is running around the house in their winter clothes. I just went to move my toes and even that is excruciating. I can see that I have a very long night ahead of me. Deb

Guest guest
Hi Tess! That's three of us tonight so far. I hope you're just getting ready for bed, since you have the three hour time difference. I don't want to think you, too, are up because you are feeling that crummy. Sending my love, Carol Re: [ ] Last Update My Sweet Deb...I am so sorry you are in such agony. Is there anything extra you can take just to get through the night? Guest guest
<PRE>i am so sorry you are feeling all that pain still. i had hoped you were done debs. i would be on the phone pitching a fit. i hope someone can help you soon. i have woke up again so stiff and sore in my back and chest. haven't taken my temp yet this morning. i am due to go to the foot dr and therapy this morning. but don't think i will. i know there is really nothing more he can do with my foot. except more surgery that i can't afford. insurance only pays 90%. i know my dr will accept assignment. but then there is the anesthesia, the hospital. bandages, antibiotics. plus i am mad because they took a post dated check, then cashed it anyway. they have lost another receptionist again. so i know it was not intentional. i guess i'll wait and see how i feel once i get out of the shower. another rainy day in chicago. yuk!!! kathy in il

Guest guest
(((((((((((((((((((((((Carol))))))))))))))))))))) I wish there was something I could say to you and Debs to make the pain go away. I am sorry you're doing bad. It does sound like your chest pain could be pleurisy (sp?). I've never had it but know how excrutiating it can be. Northbrook is a real nice area and, as you know, pretty close to Chicago. It will be so nice to meet everyone. Hang in there Carol. My prayers are with you.
