Guest guest
<WHINE> I hate when I am coming to the end of my day with my meds and my throat starts to hurt. I suppose I have the RA in my throat as well because when I am about ready to take my meds or if I fall asleep before taking them my throat just HURTS! I hate RA... Guest guest
Can RA affect the ears? Because my ears have been giving me trouble for months now. They sometimes feel as though buga are crawling deep inside them. Guest guest
I had the same thing, they hurt for over a year. I kept going to the Dr. to see if I had an ear infection. She would give me drops to numb the pain. Drove me half crazy. I finally went to an ear nose and throat doctor. He listened to my symptoms and told me I had TMJ. I grind my teeth and clench my jaw at night. He x-rayed to see if I had joint damage or muscular. Open your mouth wide and see if your jaw feels tight. RA or lupus can affect the joints and your tempomandibular joint(TMJ) or jaw bone can become inflamed. Have your Dr. or dentist check it out, it may be an answer to your discomfort? Good luck. Guest guest
That sounds like TMJ. I would dig at my ears something awful when I had TMJ symptoms appear. Also a few months after I developed RA suddenly I had about a year's worth of ear infections. Don't know if that is RA related or not but it was VERY annoying having to go to the doctor every 2 weeks with pounding, draining, throbbing ears. My throat feels better this morning but I am achy in general. Maybe it is because we in land are finally getting some much needed rain. Never had my arthritis be affected by the weather but I think it may be the case today. Certainly glad to have some rain though...it's sad to look at the mighty Susquehanna and see all the streams leading to it dried up. Guest guest
I live in land...its humid here...dry, cracked ground but humid air My throat always hurts when I adjust meds or change the time I take them. Could be in the air too...who knows. It is feeling good today atleast...just my joints now hurt! Don't have a temp. or anything so I think I will blame it on the weather. It finally rained today...the first substantial rain in a month I think they said. Guest guest
Hi Shandi, There must be something in the air. I¹ve had a sore throat for 2 days, but only minor and no other symptoms. I keep waiting for something else to happen. Do you always have a sore throat? Is it only at the end of the day? Do you live in a dry climate? Guest guest
I don’t remember where, but I read somewhere just yesterday that there is a joint that can become inflamed with RA and will cause a sore throat and hoarse voice. I also get dry eyes and a dry mouth when I flare (almost always, actually) which can cause my throat to feel scratchy. Love and hugs, Carol Re: [ ] My Throat HURTS! Guest guest
I was at Woodstock too...and Carol that discription sounds the same as another kind of joint....I remember from Woodstock...lots of memories from you who are discussing the " old gang " jimmi hindrix, janis joplin etal....sorry...hope you don't think I am making fun...I get the sore throat and hoarse voice etc too...It does hurt! I use those little paper tab breath mints that are out now..it gives me some moisture and seems to temporarily relieve the sore throat...hope you are feeling better, forgive the walk down memory lane...marge Re: [ ] My Throat HURTS! > > Hi Shandi, There must be something in the air. Guest guest
Hi Shandi, Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Where in land are you? I am in southwest PA and pretty close to the MD line. We travel into MD in the fall to see the changing leaves and to see the sights. Guest guest
I have in Havre de Grace which is NE MD. I have family in SW PA...Uniontown, Fairchance etc. Haven't been there in ages though. My throat is better but I was having some asthma type symptoms from what I think is smoke coming from next door. I am super sensitive to smoke. Seems like there should be a building code that you can't share the same airspace.
