Hi Arminita,

Sorry you are having such a bad flare right now, if you don’t have a

Rheumatologist you need to get to one very soon. I know exactly how you are

feeling, I couldn’t even squeeze my toothpaste when I was first diagnosed.

Most members of the group have experienced the same pain and fatigue. If

you are given the right medication you should feel much better. It is also

not good to let this go on too long as if you are flaring your joints are

probably inflamed and as far as I understand that inflammation can cause

damage.

If you are breastfeeding it should be OK for you to take Prednisone. I

spoke to my Rheumatologist this morning about what I should do with my meds

(I take Prednisone) if I fall pregnant (I’m trying to fall pregnant and she

is going on maternity leave for four months) she said I could carry on with

the Prednisone. So I assume it would be fine for breastfeeding too? Ask

your doctor though. The Pred will help get your flare under control quickly

until you can go onto something else.

Please don’t just stay in pain, the right doctor should have you feeling

better in no time.

Hugs to you and your baby

Heidi
