Dear Carol

My children's grandmother was Rose Confer , her

sister's name was Loretta Confer and her brother was

Confer. They owned a boarding house and a

grocery store. She used to bake dozen's of pies with

her mother and grandmother for their boarders. She

also worked in the grocery store for her father. She

married Clarence and since he was a Air Force

Pilot, they moved around a little. When Clarence died

in an airplane crash she was 40 and my children's

father had just been born, she tried to move back and

stay in PA but everyone was telling her how to run her

life and care for her 5 children so she hightailed it

back to Louisiana were they were all raised. She

would take them on a road trip every year sightseeing

all the way up to PA. She had a lot of strength and

character to raise 5 children alone. She went back to

college and got her doctorate in education and was

also a physcologist. Unfortunately, she passed away

12 years ago. I admired her greatly. There are still

cousins living in the area.

It really is a small world. Glad you are feeling
