That's what my surgeon's always told me when I'd come home off of an IV for

a few days, I'd dehydrate rather quick because the pain meds kept me tired

and I never ate much or drank much, After my hysterectomy it was horrible.

Dh went out and got the smaller bottles of Gatorade and I had to drink so

many per so many hours. And boy what a difference it made!

Do you think that would work with the way my body is being depleted with the

asthma meds (I'm using a lot right now)

Re: Has anyone tried the Water Cure for asthma?

Instead of drinking more water, wouldn't it be better to drink gaterade or

powerade? They have the electrolytes (sodium and

potassium) that your body sweats out and needs, and water doesn't have any

electrolytes. That is what is recommended a lot in the summer when you get

dehydrated, is to drink gaterade or powerade; it should say on the label how

much it contains.

> The Water Cure Recipe:

>

> Drink 1/2 your body weight of water in ounces, daily. Example 180 lb

> = 90 oz. of water daily. Divide that into 8 or 10 oz. glasses

and

> that's how many glasses you will need to drink, daily.

> Use 1/4 tsp. of salt for every quart of water you drink. Use salt

> liberally with food. As long as you drink the water, you can use

the

>

> Avoid caffeinated or alcoholic drinks. These are diuretics and will

>

> P.S. (USE Clean Water, Use non-refined, ocean salt ONLY )

> (Remember, though, that food coloring and some vitamins can color the

> AVOID diuretics such as caffeinated drinks or alcoholic beverages.

>

> CAUTION: For people with EXTENSIVE EDEMA and whose hearts sometimes
