Dear Ashok,

I can understand your pain when you forward that mail about the Olympic

shooter getting more money than the martyr three times. But look into your

heart. Isn't it correct? After all these awards are meant as a show. How

many people will watch an ad with a soldier endorsing it? Many more will

recognize Abhinav Bindra or Sachin Tendulkar. After a week, how many will

even remember the name of the soldiers who died? I bet people will scratch

their heads and say " Wasn't it some guy who headed the ATS department

what's-his-name? " Then why should we crib if sportsmen get more money? After

all we are the ones who have put them up on a higher pedestal.

Man (or woman) gets paid for the recognition and not for the work done. For

that your salary is enough. Nothing to feel bad about! These are the facts

of life.
