Guest guest
Hi Charlotte, This is in Virginia. I've was diagnosed with severe inflammatory arthritis in Nov. 1999. I've been on Azulfidine EN since February 2000. It took a good 6 months to notice a difference from the sulfa. In fact, I didn't notice a difference until I ran out and had to wait for my refill from the mail order pharmacy. For my insurance at the time, it was a step therapy (had to try it before taking Enbrel or Remicade). I've been on Remicade for 2.5 years but am still on the Sulfa as well. For the first 7 months or so I took 8 sulfa tabs a day but now I take 5. Hope that helps, Has anyone had success with plaquinel and/or sulfasalazine? Or, is it just a first-line treatment that everyone gets to satisfy their HMOs before something stronger and more expensive is prescribed? I realize I should consider myself lucky not to be in constant pain and discomfort, but I'm wondering if I'll ever get any long term relief. ===== Rose DeNicola Coordinator, Fauquier County's Promise 73 E. She said her doctors said they can't do anything more for her, so she said that if they have given up on her, she doesn't feel much like fighting. She is still taking her meds but I am very worried because it sounded as if she would stop her meds when she runs out. I tried to encourage her to go to a new doctor and to not give up. She really needs encouragement right now. Love, Ruth How can we reach Jeanette? Do you have a mail address for her? Harper

I wonder if she has changed her addy. Jeanette, If you are still getting our digest or e-mails, I just wanted you to know that you have been on my mind a lot lately. My prayers go out to you.
