, I had a colonoscopy in July. The worst part was the prep the day

before. A friend told me that she took pills, so I asked for the pills. My

surgeon said, " There are no pills. I like Go-Litely because it lets the

instrument slide in easily. " Go-Litely turned out to be a gallon of

foul-tasting liquid that I had to drink a quart of every hour for four

hours. I measured incorrectly, so after I had drunk the four " quarts, " I had

a quart left over. So the last hour, I had to drink about two quarts.

It's better if you just plan to camp out in the bathroom. That will save you

a lot of running.

For the procedure, I was given Demeral, so I was out like a light. I was not

aware of anything. But afterward it was as if I had dreamed of having pain.

So my advice is to ask for the pills (and see if you can get away with that)

and also ask for Demeral.
