Aditi meets Archie s:

Jaane tu.... ya jaane na

Betty loves Archie, but Archie is in love with . Or is he? Is he

actually in love with Betty?

Well, that is pretty much the story of 'Jaane tu... ya jaane na'.

The movie is all about those confusing years during college days, when one

doesn't know wether

one is falling in or out of love. Jai Rathod (played creditably by newcomer

Imran Khan, Aamir Khan's

nephew) is best friends with Miaow. She is not actually Miaow, her name is

Aditi, but she loves

cats, hence the Miaow (played, again nicely, by newbie Genelia D'Souza).

Jai and Aditi are bum chums, but not in love, or so they think. It is only

after they try to search for

the perfect partner, that they realize that they already have one. But is it

already too late?

There are some other interesting characters thrown in like the clutch of

college friends (newcomers),

Pratiek Babbar (Smita Patil and Raj Babbar's son) plays a small role as

Aditi's quirky brother;

Naseeruddin Shah plays Jai's dead father in a potrait, whose wife, Ratna

Pathak Shah has

deliberately and wrongly projected him as a non-violent person; Jayant

Kirpalani and Anooradha

Patel as the other set of parents.

The movie is not bad at all. But having said that, I'd like to add that it

could have been better. It is a

light hearted coming of age film, so one did not expect heavy dramatics. But

with Abbas Tyrewala,

who wrote Munnabhai MBBS, Maqbool and Main hoon na, at the helm, one

expected a more frothy

mix. (Probably, he should have retained movies title with an M :-) )

Of the songs (AR Rehman), 'Kabhi Kabhi, Aditi' and 'But Pappu can't dance

saala' are definitely

catchy and foot tapping. All in all a good movie, young at heart. Definitely

worth a look, especially

for the dynamic talent of newcomers on display and the lopsided grin of

Genelia. But I wouldn't call it

outstanding.
