Guest guest
Thank you mommtlc for this great site! Oddly my son n law to be, sent me another article a few days ago on water healing. This encouraged me get get even more water in my son(was getting water, but needed more)! For those that have trouble getting there child to drink water, add it to anything you can, dilute juices, etc. Tell them they can have something else, but after you drink some water, anything that well work. My son did not want water first thing in the morning(first thing in morning is key), but he is accepting better each day. He does get it in all his food(pureed/unable to chew), but I suspect not only our children, but some of us as well are all more dehydrated more than we realize! Guest guest
This is a really good point, Jennie--I've always wondered about this because my DD's problems began when she started to eat solid food--she was doing okay with just the purees. But the dry toast that teething babies like to chew on was a problem for her, I think--whether it was the wheat, or the dryness of it, or whether it was too much insoluble fiber because I was making my own from whole grain bread, or all three, I don't know... She doesn't drink juice and usually doesn't drink milk (sometimes she'll go through a phase of having one glass of rice or soy milk per day), and she drinks buckets and buckets of water...but maybe water alone doesn't do the trick. Maybe more of it has to be in food. Or--I think dehydration can be related to lack of healthy fats, too, and she wasn't one of those babies who loves avocado...unfortunately....and I wasn't thinking about fats at the time or I would have found a way to sneak them in.
