Guest guest
I hope your meeting with Dr. to is a good one, Lynn. I've been thinking about you and hoping that you and he can figure out how you can get to feeling better. Please tell all. Describe what your daily life has been like and ask him for help. Do not minimize anything you've been so bravely putting up with. Remember that he can't read your mind. Don't hold back! Good luck and please let us know how it goes. PS. I'm really sorry about school. I think you didn't have any other choice but to drop out for this semester.
Guest guest
, You are the kindest person I know. I spoke with my primary last night. He says either it is scar tissue or the bowels have twisted. His gut feeling is it is scar tissue. I ask about cancer or tumors. He told me there are no tumors or mass and this is not cancer. But something has to be done. He told me, he is just sorry it has to be another big surgery. I ask him how much can a body take, he was telling me about a child that had 29 surgeries. I know he was trying to make me feel better but it didn't. I hope the pain just stops, it is all the time now. How are you since your daughter leaving for college. I know it is a sad time for you. But when you see her maturing and growing you will know it is a good experience for both of you. Now you will look forward to her coming home for the holidays. Just expect a little different person coming home. They change a little, they grow. Thank you, you always make me feel better. Plus your advise is always the best. I will let you know how it goes. Guest guest
I'm so sorry, Lynn. Try not to be upset. You know that you can't go on with the pain and not being able to eat. Maybe the gastrojejunostomy will help. Not that it is a small surgery. I know you are worried, but something has to be done. I wish to could have suggested something simpler, but he's the expert. Try to trust him. I know that that may be hard, too, since you've been having such a hard time since the first surgery, but, remember, you were in a terrible way before the Whipple. What did he say to do about the pain in the meanwhile? What did he say he thought the main source of your pain is? What about eating? How often does he do the gastrojejunostomy on Whipple patients? I know you didn't want to hear that you must have more surgery, but I don't think you would have been happy if he said he couldn't do anything for you. The s Hopkins site a sent is one of my favorites. If I see anything else that might help you understand it all, I will post it. Guest guest
Thank you Al. I am banking on prayers to get me though this. It is such a big surgery and to have just gone through one, is so upsetting. But I don't seem to have a choice. Thank you for your note.
