Today I was visiting with a friend whose 96 year old grandmother has hemorrhoids that bleed quite badly. He was so concerned about her loosing her zest for life. I asked if she did anything beyond what the doctors recommended. He said if he knew something he'd try to get her to.........The only thing I could come up with on the spot was Diatomaceous Earth (DE) and Cayenne. I know the cayenne will stop bleeding by not sure it will if it has to pass alllllllll the way through the digestive tract. And it sounds quite scary even tho' we all know it doesn't hurt. She probably can't sit in c.silver and iodine might hurt but I'm sure it'd start the healing. Aloe is always good for everything but s it enough? For all I know the DE will make them more painful. Don't know how long it'd take for Butcher's Broom to do anything. I wonder if cod liver oil would help. DMSO topically would help dry but would be irritating--I might try it for making something else work better...I guess I'm very leery of her age.I did a search online and came up with lots of alternative sites, all of which require a diet change or cleanse--none of which I'd even think about suggesting to a 96-year old. Once saw a site that listed hundred of people with hemeroid and how they got rid of them with alt med.

probably 1/3 of them said got cure with the same product . TINACTIN antufungal cream sold over the counter for 5$

So I bought and tried and worked for me too.

fungal infection can get very itchy .

I think people call hemeroid any discomfort in that area

the rest were used many kind of alt med, more complicated and more expensive

Someone at a Whole Food Store recommended 's Hemorrhoid

Cream to me a number of years ago. It's first ingredient is

Apricot Kernal

Oil, most of the rest of the ingredients appear to be the

cream base. I

have used it over the years for simple hemorrhoids that have

upon occasion

bled, externalized. It works great every time, within a day

or so to shrink

them. But unless the stools are softened they often come

back. I have

also read that Vit C is important.

I have had great success with Bioflavinoids. Hemorroids are partly due to a weakness in the artery and vein walls. Bioflavinoids will strenghten them. You have to take a lot at first until its resolved. like 500 mg every 2 or 3 hrs. works very fast that way and also add some vitamin C.

Check first if she is on any medication, might not be good to mix with Blood thinners.
