Guest guest
Carol & Sue, :-( got me feeling guilty here, being probably the only smoker left on the planet :-) I'm on a big mission to stop before my baby mission takes off next month again, your stories are giving me hope. I bought a book called " The Easy way to stop smoking " I started, read that I would have to stop smoking at the end of the book (in the first chapter) and haven't gone back to it since (4 months ago! ) it will be the longest read of my life LOL! No I'm seriously going to get back into it this week and make a commitment! Thanks for the inspiration. Guest guest
Oh Heidi, I know it's hard. But you're right, of course, that you want to quit smoking before your baby mission. I quit a few years ago at Christmastime, because I didn't want to smoke in front of my stepsons. I got some of the nicotine patches for the time they were in town. After a week of not smoking, I figured it made no sense to start back up. When you decide to quit, let us know so we can pray for your success. Guest guest
Hiedi, I¹m going to help your baby mission by posting these articles for you to read: Cigarette smoking can affect women¹s fertility: http://www.ash.org.uk/html/factsheets/html/fact07.html http://www.ivillagehealth.com/experts/fertility/qas/0,11816,166255_670,00.ht ml http://www.valmillscounselling.co.uk/effects_of_smoking_on_fertility.htm Good luck to you. I was a smoker for over 20 years and know how difficult it is to quit. My husband recently quit when our first grandson was born and mom said no smokers can hold her baby! You can bet he quit in a hurry! That was difficult after 25+ years. Maybe if every time you lit up, your thoughts went to believing that this cigarette is stopping me from having a baby. Just remember, it¹s as easy as not lighting the next one. Yeah right. Wanna smack me? LOL! From someone that¹s been there, done that, and will NEVER go back. Guest guest
Hi Heidi, You're not the only smoker left on the planet. I'm a smoker too. I know that it is a terrible habit, and it is getting more and more expensive, but it is SO HARD to quit. Maybe you and I could quit together when you are ready. They say that it is easier with a partner. I smoked when I was pregnant and Wyatt has finally grown out of the asthma that he had. His father has a family history of asthma and Wyatt inhaled fluid during the c-section that also contributed, but I know that my smoking also helped the cause. My pregnancy was so stressful on me that my gyne told me not to worry about the smoking and to try to cut down. He worried that with all of the sickness I had, that the stress of quitting smoking at that time would have made things worse. I still have a lot of guilt over it. We are very lucky that Wyatt's asthma wasn't worse and he is just fine now. Let me know when you are ready. Love ya Stacey in PA
Guest guest
Hi Stacey and Heidi, me too, I aam one of those rare breeds who still smoke. when I first started the meth..both my docs told me to hold off on quitting until the RA was managed better...two docs giving me permission to not quit....of course they didn't mean I should continue forever...but I have taken there blessingg (meant to be short term) and have not tried to quit...but it is time...maybe I'll join you when you get ready to set a " quit date " . I quit for 5 years once after using acupuncture..it really worked for me...instead of starting back...I was supposed to go back for another treatment...but I just impusively decided to start smoking again...I might use acupuncture again...know of any side effects or reason with all the meds and ra that acupuncture is a good idea or not?? marge Re: [ ] Carol & Sue - Smoking > Hi Heidi, > You're not the only smoker left on the planet.
