Guest guest
Lynn: No, you are not expecting too much! You, as the patient, have the right to be informed fully about the procedure you are scheduled to undergo. You need to get ahold of Dr. to with a list of questions and ask him everything - he needs to give you concrete answers to the best of his ability. I know that doctors cannot promise absolute results from surgery nor can they say for sure that the surgery will take care completely of whatever condition you're having the surgery for, but he should be able to give you more understanding of what the surgery entails, what will happen after surgery, and what might be your status after surgery as far as the problems you are having now with your stomach. You have all the rights in the world to ask anything you want and need to ask of your doctor - it is your life and you are your own best advocate. Be informed and be prepared for this surgery. My thoughts are with you, Lynn, I know how hard this must be for you since you have already had a very similar surgery before, but, like someone else in the group said, you will not be in it alone - we'll all be there with you in heart and spirit.
