Dear I hope that this will ease your mind about the procedure. The worst

part(back in 1994) was the bowel prep the night before..I remember sitting in

the bathroom and calling the Gastroenterologist (and all his relatives) very

nasty names.Now this was back in 1994 so I am sure that they are not as vigorous

with the use of Ducolax tablets and Mag citrate as they were then. I had an

abdominal ultrasound last week and never had to do any kind of prep except NPO

after midnight.I had to go through the vigorous bowel prep back in 1994 for the

first abdominal ultrasound and again for the colonoscopy. . The colonoscopy

procedure itself was a piece of cake. I never had any pain during or after the

procedure They do give you something IV to calm the Jitters before they sedate

you for the procedure
