Guest guest
Hi everyone, I have concerns about the health of my son who is 2 1/2. Nothing major...just some subtle things I wonder about. I won't go into my whole history here but I have reason to believe that I've actually had hypothyroidism my whole life - but it was too subtle to be picked up by doctors. Ever since I can remember, my son has been just like me - he hates waking up in the morning. He really HATES it. He's groggy...grumpy. I have to wake him up slowly...first let him drink some juice for 15 minutes or so...gradually turn up the light in his room...sit with him and talk to him.... All in all, it takes me about 30 minutes to get him up and dressed. THEN we have to go downstairs and do breakfast, etc. A friend commented to me that this was odd...that all the kids she's ever known just jump right out of bed in the morning. Is this true? I know one of the symptoms of hypothyroidism is " waking up not feeling refreshed " . Is it possible that a 2 year old has it and the doctors have no idea? Thanks, in land
