Guest guest
Lousie, that's so funny! I could be that woman, as I've been ridiculous in the past with my vanity. The RA has really changed that for me. I still want to look my best, but within reason. On a day when I'm flaring, I'm not going to pay the price for the rest of the day because I want to look nice. Thanks for the smile! Oh, how are you doing Lousie? I've been really worried about you. Have you heard any more? Much love, Carol [ ] Shaving of legs Dear Stacey in PA. I LOL when you said you had to shave your legs before your Remicade. In the 70's I had a friend (another RN) who refused to go to the hospital when she was in labor with her 2nd child.until she shaved her legs. She had the baby in the hospital elevator on the way to the Labor and Delivery floor. Her Doc just so happened to be in the elevator with her and her husband and they both yelled at her saying they did not care what her legs had looked like before the shave. The Doc said she could have been as hairy as the Wolfman and he would not have noticed.LOL again; Louise in Alabama
Guest guest
That is so funny, Louise! With my third and last child, I, too, would not leave for the hospital before I showered and shaved. I went into labor at about 3:30 AM, called my then husband in Oregon hoping that he could make it back to IL in time (he didn't), and then called my friends and relatives at about 7:00 AM. My friend, a neighbor who is a nurse, came over about 10:00 AM and was urging me to go in to the hospital immediately. She nearly had a baby herself when I told her that I had to shower and shave first. She was sitting outside my bathroom door the whole time yelling at me to hurry up. I took my time because I didn't want to spend more time in the hospital than necessary, and I didn't think the contractions were that close together. wasn't born until 3:30 PM, and I did make it to the hospital in plenty of time, but I laugh every time I think of my friend getting annoyed with me for showering and shaving. She kept telling me that I wouldn't want to have the baby in the car, LOL! Maybe it was because it was her husband's fancy car that got me there? [ ] Shaving of legs > Dear Stacey in PA. Guest guest
I didn't shave my legs ...but I went into ER with a really bad RA flare in a knee and hip along with digestive complications from reflux one Easter Sunday morning. I was afraid an ulcer was bleeding..it was. While my friend and then roommate pulled up the car and came up to help me down the stairs - I got dressed -which included - of all things - tights, a jeans jumper and god forbid I would forget earrings ( my ears are pierced). To this day I don't know how I pulled on the stockings...Nurse had to help me undress - cause couldn't get them off. Vanity thy name is female...LOL
Guest guest
I have to admit, I did the same thing before my first was born. I always kept clean and shaved just in case except this one night, we had worked around the house and I was sooo tired so I went on to bed and lo and behold at 2 am I went into labor. My husband kept yelling at me to get out of the bathroom so we could get to the hospital, he was almost in tears. My son was born 8 hours late Judy in Indy
