Guest guest
I can vouch for those steering wheel covers, Carol. Although my ex now has custody of my old minivan, on a whim I purchased a leopard print, furry cover for its steering wheel. I noticed that my daughter would always remove it if she were driving that car. I asked why, and she said because it was " ghetto. " Well, the name stuck. I now always refer to that vehicle as: Ghetto Van. Anyway, I thought it was more comfortable to grip the wheel with the cover on it. Guest guest
Carol, that steering wheel cover is a good idea. I came across something else that helps--bought some gel-filled biker gloves which I can wear to drive, push a shopping cart or stroller, and look pretty darn sporty too! They cost about $12 at K-Mart. They even support my wrists a little. Ron says next thing I'll want is a convertible. Judi in IN
Guest guest
What a good idea! I might just go and look for them, too. You know what else? It cuts down on your germ exposure. With the Remicade and MTX, I'm always looking for ways to do that. Much love, Carol [ ] Re: Driving ideas Carol, that steering wheel cover is a good idea. Guest guest
, My kids use the phrase ghetto a lot too. I do have a steering wheel cover and if I had bought it, it would have been more interesting but mine is just plain brow. Guest guest
I got my big rubber steering wheel cover at Big Lots for $2.00!!! It actually matches the interior of my van (grey), and makes holding the steering wheel SOOOO much easier. It practically doubled the diameter, and since it is covered with fabric, I no longer have to " test " the temperature of the steering wheel when the van sits in the sun or put on gloves just to touch it in the winter. Of course, with my hands being the way they are, my husband had to muscle the thing on! It's on there for good now! I don't know how I managed before I had it. BTW, thanks for all your notes of encouragement during last week's truly awful bout with pain and fatigue. It seems to have passed for the time being - even though I had to encourage that by increasing my prednisone (at the doctor's request). That seemed to do the trick, but now my little round face is back! O, well. Small price to pay for being able to function. The Remicade has still not had an effect, so I guess the next time we will try to increase the dose. I'm still hoping for the best. Guest guest
This thread has been really interesting inasmuch as I bought a steering wheel cover a month or so ago. The interior of my car gets so hot due to the climate (Florida) that getting into it and grabbing the steering wheel can be a *heated* experience, if you know what I mean! <lol> I have found it to be a real help, now I can jump in the car, midday, and take off without batting an eyelash (or hollering blue murder!). But, it also makes holding onto the steering wheel much nicer! Suzanne Re: [ ] Driving ideas > > > , > My kids use the phrase ghetto a lot too.
