Guest guest
It is wonderful that you figured that out & that your daughter has made so many improvements! It's a lot of detective work! Thank goodness for the IgG testing! for me (a scientist) it is really nice to have data showing which foods are most troublesome for him (and makes it easier to convince DH and other family members to believe he needs this diet). It makes me wonder how many of the kids who are thought of as not responding to GF/CF are actually also sensitive to one or more of the main grains used in most gluten-free foods. I had always thought my son was irritated by rice, but kept telling myself that it couldn't be rice - it's supposed to be one of the most non-allergenic foods. But, I wasn't surprised to see rice as a +1 on his IgG. So is corn. So, if we'd just gone gluten-free without the IgG test, I'd have been giving him all the gluten-free foods that are often mostly rice flour and corn flour and probably assumed that he wasn't responding. I think the " SC " may be referring to the specific carbohydrate diet? Your daughter's story definitely gives me hope that we can get my son's gut healed and allow us to introduce more foods again! > > > > > > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > > > Apologies ahead of time - this is LONG.
