Guest guest
I am not sure who you wrote this too as there's nothing underneath. I get temps anywhere from 100-100.4. I've been like that now for 10 years. Lou Subject: Re: Question to all, body temps To: CFAlliance Date: Wednesday, July 16, 2008, 2:08 AM Sounds like you may have a thyroid problem. Guest guest
And of course we have the " Syndrome " Theory about low body temps being a thyroid disorder as well. A lot of doctors dismiss his theory but who knows it could later be found to be correct. Thanks Jery for a very informative post
Guest guest
I was a 98.6 24/7/365 all of my life until I had my first episode of TTP where I acquired the HepC from in 1988. After that, my normal was 99.6, everyday, all day. I got so tired of being told that I had a low grade fever when I'd go see a doctor. When I had my 2nd episode of TTP, I noticed that my temp went back down to 98.6 for about a month after I stopped the plasma pherisis (full body blood exchange daily). Same thing after the 3rd episode...fever, then no fever for a month or so, then back to 99.6. Every doc blames it on something else, but I'm pretty sure that it's like Jery said, I'm fighting the HepC (a virus) and the blood exchanges temporarily got rid of the HepC virus and temp went back to normal. It seemed like when I didn't " feel well " ...a little under the weather, my temp would go down instead of up...go figure. My blood pressure took a dive for a while and my temp did go down to below 98.6 for a while...then came back up after several months which I'm thinking may have been my thyroid since I had other thyroid symptoms...so I would think that the Thyroid could also affect the temp. Trying to figure it out will drive you crazy!! >
Guest guest
- I get this same thing! My 'normal' is 97.4 also, I don't believe I've ever dipped below that though. Sometimes it goes up to 99 (100.4 was my highest so far). I'm going to mention it to my doc this week. PS - Thanks Jery for all the info! STL Jane > > I usually run a low body temp it can go as low as 96.4 even 95 but my > average is 97.4, I never paid much attention to it, until a doctor asked if I took > it when I didn't feel well and I hadn't. Guest guest
Now with me, I've been on Synthroid ever since I got CFS--10 years ago. I have my thyroid checked about once a year. It stays right at the same. I just had it checked. My TSH and T3 and Free T4 are all excellent and where they need to be. I don't know if CFS is an immune system problem? All I know is my body attacks my white cells. Lou
Guest guest
Hi Y'all, My temp has always been 97.1. When I am sick my temp has dropped as low as 95.1. The school nurse had no idea what to do with me and usually sent me home. I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism since 1988. I also have some brain stem compression which may be responsible for the low body temperature. I do not know for sure. I will curious to see how the tethered cord surgery will affect everything. My blood pressure stays in the 90/50 to 100/60 range. My pulse stays in the 50-70bpm range. Normally with lab work the WBC in in the normal range, my blood sugar & cholesterol tend to be on the low side. When I am in a flare, my lab work comes back showing high WBC, high blood glucose and cholesterol, plus other irregularities which do not show up when I am not flaring. Doctors have found this curious but cannot explain. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any questions ask, I'm not shy. Take care of you.
