Guest guest
Sorry I goofed on the url for my blog http://360.yahoo.com/kc0lexsbcglobal (DOT) net its amazing how much a difference a .net or .com can make. I just find it interesting how much ppl will go to blogs and read it when they asre interested in one thing on the blog. They will also look at the other things on the block. Shows how hungry they are for truth. Matt
Guest guest
The nice thing about yahoo’s blog (comes with the DSL) is that it does have a stat counter, right now I have it turned to be seen just by me. What I mean by teasing it on an e-mail reflector is this. I work at 911 and someone stole a firetruck. I wrote two blog entries: one about Edmund Campion and one about the firetruck getting stolen. Then I post to the 911 email groups I am members of about “ the really strange call that I dealt with at work and all of the sudden 60 hits in an hour on the Blog, no negative comments, people adding me as friends, coming back and marking it as a friend where they see my updates when I post them. I can do the same thing for geo-caching, ham-radio, scouting and hunting. Blog it, Blog something else that is outrageous (weird condom use, death of mother and child from abortion, about martyrdom of St Edmund Campion etc) and then talk about what went on that is of interest to the group on an e-mail list with a link to the blog and a couple pictures. I know there are 1 million + ways not to put the information out. Here is what I find to be the catch. Getting it on a blog or website is pretty easy. Getting significant numbers of people to look at it is the real challenge. This would bring up the topic of SEO (i.e., search engine optimization) of which I could say much, but for now... You might try inserting a statcounter (statcounter.com) into your blog. The counter, actually, does not have to be visible. On some of my pages, I prefer that it is not. What it will tell you is how many hits, visits, unique visitors, etc., etc., you are getting on your page. I like it because it gives me a per page analysis where as with server logs it is hard to dig this kind of information out of a site wide log. ... just a hint. Then, when you have some numbers on who is coming, where they are coming from, how often, etc., let us know! I would like to know more about what you mean by " tease it on the e-mail reflector. " You can even send me a post off list. -- When am I due? Calculate due dates, gestational age, fetal age, and much more! Sauer wrote: I just posted a contraception related blog entry to my little blogsite. http://360.yahoo. com/kc0lex@ sbcglobal. com I have found something interesting about blogging. I am interested in several different things, some proffessionally and some hobby wise and others faithwise. Instead of just sending the whole story to my e-mail reflector dedicated to that topic (geo-caching or 911) I will post a blog entry with all the details and tease it on the email reflector. Of course, I will also try to post some type of evangelizing blog entry next to the blog entry. Great way to get the message out.
