Oh it’s so great that you are feeling a bit better. It sounds like you are

taking the right steps to try and lose weight – you GO girl!

I’m sorry that you are in pain though, hopefully your doctor can find

something to give you some relief.

I totally agree with you about dieting, I panic whenever the word is

mentioned. Before my wedding I decided to go on diet to lose a little bit

of weight… ended up gaining 5 kgs! I’ve decided it’s not for me, I used to

be very very skinny and eat like a horse, it was quiet a shock to me when my

metabolism slowed down as I got a bit older and I’ve had to learn new ways

to eat, especially now with the Pred and hormones I’m taking.

I think the best way is to try and get into a new eating lifestyle that lets

you give in to your cravings sometimes and doesn’t feel like a prison

sentence. I’m trying to eat low-fat, lots of fruit and salads and a less

carbohydrates. I’ve discovered Brown Rice cakes (without salt – great on

Pred cos of the water retention), they are really tasty (a bit like popcorn)

and make a great lunch with fat-free cottage cheese or other toppings and a

salad or just as a snack with a little jam or peanut butter.

Another thing is to drink lots of water and cut down on all those “hidden”

calories like fizzy drinks, chocolates, biscuits, peanuts etc.

Hopefully we can all motivate eachother!
